Viewing Card

Recently I have been getting no satelite signal and there is a techical problem on my sky box, ive got a new sky box of a friend who no longer has sky, the problem has been sorted out using this new box but i have sky sports and movies but as my friend didnt have sports or movies i cant view them and get a message saying something along the lines of this viewing card isnt for this reciever. Is there anyway in my power that I could resolve this?

Cheers Dom

My System: Satellite Dish 1.6m Hotbird 13E, DreamBox 7000S with Gemini 4.5.0; Dish 1.2m Amos 4W, Nokia 9600S; Nokia 9800S; Hauppauge Nexus-S PCI Card

He battled for 3 days against the Tux and won! Hurray!!

I suppose that contacting Sky and giving them the box and card numbers should sort it out.
But why didn't you ask them to replace the Sky box in the first place?
Here, we have Yes Package and if the box is dodgy, subscribers call the Yes services and they replace the box at no extra charges.

you need to call sky and get them to pair your sky card with the box and you'll have our sports and movies back

sky sports and sky movies are receiver specific. they are only viewable with a card that has been paired up by sky in that one reciever. most of the other chanenls can be viewed as they are not box specif.
