Freesat from sky and DarkBox

Hey,

I'm about to buy the DARKBOX SD Rev 2008 USB PVR CONAX
I had heard that it can use a sky digital viewing card to watch the FTV channels on it...

If i get a card from sky to only view FTV can the darkbox update it?
Anyone that knows about this?

I have another solution... I mostly want to use the card in my computer... I have a CAS3+ programmer and it can be used as a card reader... I'm going to use DVBViewer and the plugin called NDSCam and wanted to know if this can update the card?

Hoping someone can help me with this...

Best regards

My System: TM6800HD+TD110+StabHH90 motor,TM1000D+Orbital 1m Multifeed 16E,23E,28E.DigitAlB movies. A Bigsat BS-S77CX and a Sky Dodgibox.

I don't know the answer, but wanted to make sure that you were aware that channel 5 is now FTA, so now all of the UK PSBs are now FTA.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

And also, reported in another post, it appears that sky may have finished issuing their FTV cards.

The Darkbox rev 2008 is a HD box by the way not an SD box as stated.

Speaking to one of the site sponsors who used to supply these models, it was said (without prejudice), that these boxes have software problems, and would no longer supply them.

I would recommend the TM6800/TM6900 instead. I have the sky card working in my box working admirably on ch4 HD, but alas after 6 weeks, it needs to go back to roost in a sky dodgybox over night, and then it works again OK.

It's not live on Freesat yet, so it can hardly have "gone". Testing is still happening.

I have had the Darkbox 2008 HD for the past 6 months and have found it to be pretty much OK. Have to reboot now and again but normally works fine. Very pleased with it.

Cheers
