No, not all of the channels in the list in the first post can be received without a card.

More or less all the channels that can be received with a digibox without a card and without moving the dish are the yellow ones on this list http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/skyuk.html

FTV channels do not appear on list of available channels

[quote=net1]Free-to-air TV and radio services available on digital satellite

Hi,
very simple question for you experts:
- i have a Pace 2500b digibox and a sky card (yellow house) probably not active but I cannot see ITV, CH4, CH5 even in the list of available channels.
I know they are not FTA but I would expect to see them on the list.
Does it depend on the receiver?
Or the above channels will apeear in the list only after i eventually subscribe to one of the sky packages?

Many thanks,
Teo

If you take the card out of the box what channels do you see on the list?

You should be able to see the default channel list with no card in the box.

Whit and without card I see the same channels in the list, ie.:
101 BBC1
102 BBC2
106 SkyOne
107 SkyOneMix
etc.
I would expect to see 103 ITV1 etc.
Then, whether I can actually decode ITV1 with my card it's the next step...

That is strange then, I assume the card was sent to your address, have you ever tired to activate it?

It is not certain if it is still possible to activate the FTV cards any longer (as they are no longer issued), but some people seem to have been able to do it recently with no problems.

Is the box showing the card number on the system details page under the services menu?

If so it might best just to phone up and try to activate the card, that way you will also see if it is possible to still do so.

If the card number is not shown then there is no point in trying to activate the card as the box is not reading it correctly.

Go to install menu see-: http://www.vowles-home.demon.co.uk/Sat/Sky.htm#quick1 for instruction on how to access select option 6 New Installation, this will place all channels covered by your card in the EPG.
