Second BBC HD channel?

Can someone with a HDTV box scan 10847V and see if there is a second BBC HD transmission there?

Ive just pulled down a new test tagged as "6945" which appears to be a copy of the BBC HD service at the moment. The pids appear to be the same, although it doesnt have any epg info on it unlike BBC HD.

(My Technomate puts the HDTV transmission in the radio section and sets up the audio and programme pids, although it doesnt like the video pids and sets them at zero....)

Hi

You're right.

I've just scanned 10847V, and there is a channel, "6945", that is showing the same program that BBC HD is transmitting, but with no EPG.

It is also in HD (1080i)

My System: Skystar 2, (so far) Hopefully 80cm dish & 0.3db monoblock P4 2.53Ghz O/C 3.02Ghz Athlon XP 2200 HTPC Barco Data 701 CRT Projector 87" wide 16:9 screen

I did a scan the other day using Dvbviewer and the second channel is showing the same as the 1st BBC HD preview channel less the dolby digital audio channel.

Hope this helps

My System: DM7020-s

Hi,

Just so I know what is the format of the 1st channel, 720p? Since the second channel is quoted as 1080i.....

Are all the sky HD channels 720p?

Thanks,

Stvy

My System: Technomate 1500CI+, Comag SL55 and Skystar2 on a 104 cm motorized dish and Humax HDCI200 on 90 cm motorized dish.

No all European HD stations are 1080i and nothing else.

Not that I have Sky, but that's not what their website says:

It is an HD format true, but no broadcaster has chosen 720p, it just SKY covering themselves just incase one station one day starts a 720p service.

My System: PACE 430 (Radio Reception only to feed a SKY Gnome), PACE 3100 (PVR 2.5), ROI SKY 6 mixes, Technomate TM-1500 CI+, TM-6900 HD, 100 cm Triax (Sky), 80 cm Nokia with Motec SG-2100. MacBook and that's that.

Why would BBC HD launch a second channel when the first hardly can fill 3 hours of programming a night?
