C Band on 34.5w ..... KBC-KTN-NTV channels .. on or off?

Any C banders confirm if TP 3895 L 8594 (KBC KTN NTV) on Intelsat 903 34.5w ..NE Zone is still on or not...

Lyngsat & Flysat list it but Kingofsats doesn't and cant find it at KBC's site.

My System: CKD 12 (3,66m)

Hello pedro2000uk,

signal is here with mesh 12ft very weak with only <2dB S/N (Openbox X-810). To get this package - itīs very hard - you need >3,5dB S/N.

Best Regards
Edgar.

Thanks dx... I take it from that KBC etc.. are still on...

the footprints are a bit... vague

Do you think I'd get a better chance with 5w Panatlantic beam on 3656r 2893- that carries KTN

Hello pedro2000uk,

KTN on 3656 R 2894 3/4 (Atlantic Bird 3 @5,0°W) has much more stronger signal. With mesh 12ft now 7,8dB S/N -> you get this with >2dB S/N.

With 1,80m you get KTN on 3656 R (5,0°W) very good. Itīs also possible with 1,50m, if you use an Waveguide Polarizer (see australian homepage from av.comm). I use this Waveguide Polarizer too!

If you have 1,20m dish it is not easy to get it. I would say that itīs not possible. But you can try it.

The signal for Kenyan mux on 3895 L (@Intelsat 903 @34,5°W) will need >4,50m dish...

Best Regards
Edgar.

Thanks for that infomation dx...

..the waveguide polarizer looks very interesting over a dielectric plate.... that's quite some gain...

Why not tell us about your system, dish size is somewhat important to get this channel.

check the very informative posts above from dx qwer... by that you need a much bigger dish just for the easiest ....5w c band... in Sweden... at a guess.. 2.4m+

34.5w would need a massive dish...

and 32.9e is out of the question in northern Europe ... it's a spot beam, too far away and too focused.

most receivers have c band settings for the lnb...

yes the direction is west... 18 degrees west of the 13e and up a bit and the skew is over a bit for the ku band on 5w (French etc.)... the c band is circular

you can get a lot of African tv free on various sats in ku band if you motorise that 90... (not Kenya yet)

Hello issedin,

no, itīs not possible for you to get KTN on (encrypted) MultiChoice Africa package on Eutelsat Sesat @36.0°E on 11142 H 30000 3/4.

This Ku-Band Beam is for South Africa and not for Europe. Pease check it @LyngSat!

Best Regards
Edgar.

NTV Uganda (kenya) 11647v 5000 on seasat 36e is showing as DVD S2 ...the S2 means that most satellite receivers won't receive it - HD receivers should.... but I'm not sure what non HD receivers are DVD S2 compliant.

here is the footprint

_http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/sesat_fixed.html

the dish sizes are on the right so 90 in southern to mid Sweden is certainly OK if the map is OK.. only north is on the limit ... you could even try it with a 3rd lnb at the side of the 19e side if you are in the south.

What is on NTV for Kenya programming?

My System: Covering 30W-105.5E range, two motors, C and Ku band. Various receivers/cards/cams/etc.

One local cable TV has these channels in their broadcast. I wanted to check their dish setup, but no tall buildings around, and their dishes are inside at yard, very high fence around, can only see some edge of low-elevated huge mesh dish.

Just to echo what dx qwer said .. he is in Germany (a bit nearer to 34.5w footprint than Sweden), so for Sweden it looks like you need a very big dish if it is possible... 6m or bigger for 34.5w and 2.4m or bigger for 5w.
Or wait for a company to transmit to N. Europe on KU.
