My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

You shouldnt have any problem with Hotbird on a 1.8m dish - in France a 50cm should be plenty!

My System: 75e-75w C & KU, 36v h-h /36v & diseqc actuators / diseqc -USALS motors / Anlg to HD Channel Masters C120s dishes, stb's inc echo3000, lnbs, meters, custom polar mounts & elevation/incline actuator conversions...

Is that LNB an LNBf or C120 with feed horn. (it should be the C120 and the feed horn set to the f/d ratio of the dish)

Also, those dishes are difficult to build accurately.. if both are wrong you have a very big 'little' dish.

And ....the dishes are not strong so avoid strong wind exposure… or add strengthening.

That's an LNBf .. used on offset dishes.

The dish you have is a prime focus, well I think it is... is it ?

has it 6 sections to bolt together and 3 arms that hold the lnb in the middle?

It is a Jonsa dish though

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

My System: Covering 30W-105.5E range, two motors, C and Ku band. Various receivers/cards/cams/etc.

Well, 180cm fortec star prime focus dish is solid one, no segments (at least, such model is sold here).

You will need C120 flange LNB and feedhorn (check attached picture).

General plain LNB will also work (like one you have already), just 180cm dish will work as 120cm one, if not worse. But it will be still enough for Hotbird.
