Anyone got a recommendation on the best cam ?

CAMs, built-in CAMs, Common-Interface CAMs...
Add-on decoders.

My System: Echostar DSB-808 Vi2 80cm Dish Motorised, temporally on a 1mt pole mount, (which tracks the arc if the wind blows the right direction.) Pace 2600 (Sky), Infinity usb+Cas3 programers. Dell P4-2.4ghz, 512DDR, 75GB HD Radeon 9800 Graf/Crd. + Ext HD M
Question Anyone got a recommendation on the best cam ?

My sat system has been out of action for a while due to house move but I recently blew of the dust & set up a dish to check out what might be available. (I’ve just set up astra/hotbird for now but will hopefully get the motor up on the next free weekend). I was last using a dragon cam but now see that not much is presently available…what I want to know is what’s next? Anyone got a recommendation on the best cam to purchase at the moment?

I was using an infinity programmer & T-Rex card to load the dragon..

Thanks in advance..

My System: Triple Dragon with HDD/USB stick, Dreambox 8000, Humax HDCI2000, Echostar AD3000ip & SR8700, Aston Simba, RSD ODM300. Swedish Microwave 1.2 Motorised dish / Invacom C120 twin LNB driven by the AD3000. 3 other fixed dishes.

A Diablo CAM would probably be the best choice (A CAS programmer will be necessary for this CAM). Some good openings on 0.8/ 1W using this CAM at present.

Either wait until you get motorised, or you could reposition your existing dish.

Thanks for the info but what will the abracadabra cam get that the diablo wont?
Also will I have any use for the infinity programer or will this require a cas as well?
Cheers,

I've been reading around & see that the abracadabra is only for use with an echolink 3020? Now with things being tight this looks like a cheeper option than the purchase of the diablo & a cas but I'm getting more confused by the minute..? Anyone using a abracadabra who can point me to a link on how to program the card or can advise on what I will (or wont) be able to recieve if I go down this route?

Cheers,

Well

I can almost guarantee you will not get a reply from anyone here as I do not think anybody has one or even actually seen a photograph of one, therefore nobody knows anything about one, as far as I am concerned it is a red herring which nobody wants to waste their money on for fear of loss of future support and I suggest you do the same.

Thanks for that Topper, I guess it's a Diablo CAM & a CAS programer request in a letter to santa then...
