A few questions

hi,

I have done loads of reading on the subject of card programming, however there are a few questions which are left unanswered, and i was hoping someone could help.

I currently have a dreambox (DM500s) and am using a software cam to emulate certain keys. There are still many locked channels, so i was curious if it were possible to program a card to unlock these channels.

so here are my questions:

- Would the common interface slot on the drambox read all cards? Or at least the funcard7? (i read that certain cards require certain cams, but the dreambox has no PCMCIA slot)

- Can one make an exact clone of a card?

- Are there keys/hex files for all providers or only hacked ones?

- I am mainly interested in unlocking the Taquilla channels (digital+ i think) can this be done? i read that one needs a titanium card for this, but that post is outdated and i gather digital+ just changed there encryption.

- Is it possible to purchase a pre-programmed cards somewhere on the net?

many thanks

Welcome to the forum.

I'll try to answer some of your questions, but I'm sure there'll be more comments shortly.....

- Would the common interface slot on the drambox read all cards? (i read that certain cards require certain cams, but the dreambox has no PCMCIA slot) I don't have a DB, but a common interface slot is a PCMCIA type connector where you would plug in a conditional access module (CAM) and that is what would read the card.

- Can one make an exact clone of a card?

Don't think so; what is in a genuine card is a closely guarded secret. Titanium cards (often known as smartcards) and the like are single chip microcomputers with some memory. They are programmed to emulate what a genuine card does by painstakingly logging the behaviour of the genuine article.

- Are there keys/hex files for all providers or only hacked ones?

There are lots of key files around seemingly containing codes for many providers. Out of date codes are often left in because nobody has taken them out or to make the file look better.

- I am mainly interested in unlocking the Taquilla channels (digital+ i think) can this be done? i read that one needs a titanium card for this, but that post is outdated, and i gather digital+ just changed there encryption.

I think we are going through a low spot at the moment; quite a few providers are changing encryption. This is a very unpredictable hobby, but there are some very clever people who like to crack these things.

- Is it possible to purchase a pre-programmed cards somewhere on the net?

If by pre programmed you mean cards to emulate the genuine card, then if there are they are often short lived and you risk your money. Similarly, every couple of months there seems to be a new miracle multi cam which needs a new smart card, but I think the DB community is very active and in most cases if it can be opened the DB can open it.

If you mean can you obtain a genuine card then there are some outlets that offer these, but like with S_y cards outside the UK it may be cheaper if you have a friend in that country to subscribe through them

Hope that helps
