Elvis + Gold Cards Any Use?

I have on old elvis programmer and some gold cards that used to be used for On-digital. Will these be any good for a satellite system, or has technology moved on in the last 5 years?

If so, what is the best combination of CAM, etc to use to get some sports and movie channels?

They are old technology, although your Elvis programmer might be useful for some cards you wont get much with a gold card.
The latest Cam is the Diablo 2.3, but you need a Cas programmer to update it, I recommend the Cas 3+ which can program both cams and cards.
The Diablo 2.3 can currently open the following main packages:
Premiere 19E
DigitAlb 16E, but not the HD channels
Polsat 13E
Canal Digital 1W
Digi TV 1W

Thanks for that. If I get hold of a CAS 3+, what type of card do I need to get if the gold cards are pretty much obselete?

Am I correct in assuming I need a card to go in the diablo?

Most older type cards are pretty much obsolete these days as they have insufficient on board memory to do much.. Only the new generation of super cards is of much use (eg - the Abracadabra card). Have a look around the forum - theres plenty of info about what cards are still being used.

Most illicit viewing is done with receiver patches or card sharing now - again theres plenty of info around the forum.

My System: 1.2M, & 55cm Gregorian Dish`s, 1.8m Precision dish Jaeger 1224 H-H motor.Dreambox 800, Vbox-II. SS2 Card.

The elvis will still programme most cards out today, so hold on to it.
