I am new to this, I wonder if some can help.
I have a Galaxis IQG Matrix S receiver ( It’s an ex JSTV ) and a Viaccess 4.81. I programmed a gold card with elvis. Elvis auto detected the card and programmed it with out any error. I used phills sat site’s dated 29/11/01. But it comes with “please check card” on the TV.
My question is has anyone used Galaxis receiver before with the simpler setup.
Also is the problem lies in Viaccess 4.81?

Could be 3 things:
1. What channels are you trying to watch.? The codes for that channel might of changed since the 28/11/01.

2. For some reason the card is not programmed correctly.

3. The hex files that your using don't like your receiver/cam

You should try as many different hex files as possible.
Take a look at some of these sites for hex files:

Thank you very much for the advice. I really appreciate it.

Goods news first, I managed to get it working on fun card. I tried lots of different files on gold card, nothing worked. But I don’t mind, fun card is fine for me. Have to edit the file I will try it today.

Some time when I flick through the channel the card stops working, But if I to restart the receiver it will work again. I ‘m not sure why is doing this. Or do I have to use some blockers or some thing?

When I authorise the card from the receiver menu. Some channel comes up with the option 1. subscribe 2 prebook.. Do I have do anything on this?


Mp6 and Mp7 beta are good, but I like the dos program which is very good. Windows one some times does not detect the gold card

Have you tried the Barracuda Hex file for gold cards. This should work with your Red CamV4.81.

In a nut shell the answer is NO. Hex files can't be converted to fun card files.

Hi Nobbly,

I tried this file, still does not work. I wonder if the two gold cards I have some problem. Fun card works fine but it's not very stable. It hangs the CAM. I need to reboot receiver. I'm not sure if this to do with some TPS attacks
I will try some other gold card files and let you know

The TPS problem can only be solved by making sure there is only one provider (TPS!) on your card.

There are a couple of other claimed improvements out there (a funcard fileset that supposedly supports TPS and max 2 others, for example) but I've not heard confirmation that they actually work.

Some of this is convered in other posts in the viaccess forum oon this board.

Thanks for the advice

I tried with one set of fun card files. It didn't work, still hangs.
When edting the file there are two lines in the provider's list. (1) Viaccess (2) FFF40-ISSUER(0). Do I need to delete this as well?
By the way I am using Pic BIN editor ver 1.43.
Also I will edit and try some other sets of fun files
