Just a quick one to the technology boys. If u install Linux Os on a laptop that has a PCMIA port is it possible to program a CAM? As Linux is open source software

![]() | Some older Cams can be programmed using the PCMIA slot on your laptop, but as these are no longer of any use it's pointless, newer cams require a programmer, the best being the Cas 3+, or newer, programmer, as these can program both cams and cards. As there is hardly anything available, at the moment, it would be ebst to wait a short time before investing in any new equipment.

Blog Entries: 5 My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser. | With some older CAMs, it could be done on a Windows 98 laptop, but don't think you'd have much joy with the newer CAMs, as I don't believe there are any loaders available. Edit. Beaten to the punch.
