Simple Hex Editor Question

I presume most Hex editors work directly on the smart card via some sort of programmer interface. Are there any Hex editors that can modify the file itself (making any necessary checksum updates)? The reason I ask the question is that my programmer is an Infinity USB programmer which I believe does not support a Hex editor interface.

Keep the faith,
Shaun.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

I think that you'll find most of them can work direct from the file Shaun, picbinedit for one, Isvedit another. I'll be looking to put a few more in this section, but in the meanwhile you can get it from phill's site.
