Using an original expired card to decode channels.

MOSC = modified original smart card

A search should bring up more detailed information.

Thanks B B . I have a soon to be expired R*d l*ght card. I'll have to learn about this and see if I can 'renew' this card. I doubt it though!

Save your time - as you suspected, there's nothing you can do with that card.
