Eprom - Internal or External

What is the difference between an internal and external
Eprom? Why do some cards need just one of either and
some need both? How do I identify the files easily?

I'm very confused!

Most of the funcard files conatin a flash/data file and an Eprom file.

Nearly all 5in1 6in1 use the external Eprom. (named "EPROM")
So if your not sure use the external eprom.

Others use 2 eprom files. Internal and external. (named int-eprom, Ext-eprom)

Some of the Free X TV files use the internal eprom these eprom files are also indicated int-eprom/int-hex.

Nobbly,

TVM for that info. I had success with a 6 in one card last night
so am feeling quite pleased with myself!

There are other in this section asking similar questions so my next
one is regarding the cards themselves. There are quite a number
on the market and I am using the basic funcard. Are there benefits
to using a "better" card for everyday use and development. I have
just ordered some more basic funcards to play with as I want to
keep the one I have working to last for a litle while.

I like your links list. what is interesting is that a lot of the foums have
very very similat content.
