My System: Technosat IR-7000 |
==== I have IR-7000 and I cant add satellites like Hotbird cause I don't know where are the settings to do so (I have Eutel or Nile), is it because my satellite is manual and not automatic? Moreover why should we download the "drivers" for the receiver? Thanks.

| Not sure from your message about the system that you have. Please let me know: 1 - The dish size and the satellites that it is pointing to. 2 - Is it fixed or movable with motor 3 - You don't have a satellite. You have a satellite dish 4 - Type of LNB (Single, Dual, etc.) 4 - To receive Hot Bird, you must point it to 13E and then from your receiver menu go to satellites setup, choose Hotbird (or Eutelsat 13E) and start scanning. Good Luck (bonne chance) | |||

My System: Technosat IR-7000 | Thanks for replying as I am completely lost in this stuff, and my english is so bad ![]() 1- I think 70 or 80 cm 2- It is fixed, e.g. not motor 3- Yes it's a dish 4- LNB: Single 5- When you say "point it to 13E", what does it mean? Imagine I want a random channel like 28.5°E on Eurobird with a certain frequence, how do I do with my dish? Once again thanks for letting me know.

You still didn't say the dish position. How was it installed ? Ask the installer which position it is now. First of all, start by going to the Lyngsat website. http://www.lyngsat.com And from there you will find a lot of information about all the satellites and their position. for example For Hot Bird 13E (13 Degree East) the link is http://www.lyngsat.com/hotbird.html and you can see at the top the position as 13E For other satellites in Europe choose the position from this list: http://www.lyngsat.com/europe.html If you have it (the dish) pointing to 28.2E, then you can scan with the receiver and you will get most of the channels listed in the Lyngsat for 28.2E So you can't say random channel like 28.5°E on Eurobird You should say : random channel ON 28.2°E on Eurobird, because Eurobird is not a channel. It is a satellite pointing to 28.2E Hope that I didn't confuse you too much. Good Luck

My System: Technosat IR-7000 | OK, just one more thing, if I have only a single LNB, which satellites can I expect to have, is there a mean to know it, and with a dual? Otherwise I have understood some points and I'll try to catch some interesting channels, thank you.

| Then you MUST fix it in one satellite direction only. With a motor, you can move from one satellite to another and you can control all this from your receiver remote. If you don't want a motor, there is a possibility to install a dual LNB for Hot Bird 13E and Astra 19.2E (because the difference 19.2-13=6.2 degrees is small and makes it possible in Europe. But I think that you may need a special dish for this combination. Ask your satellite installer about this. You will know which satellite you are on from the FTA (open) channel list and compare it from the list in Lyngsat. Also, your receiver will tell you !!! I would like to ask you something. I love to watch French TV channels, but unfortunately it is not possible to buy smartcards outside France. The same thing is with SKY UK. Only in the UK My question is this: I heard that Canal Satellite bought TPS and they will transmit only one package from Asta 19.2 next year. I think their package is excellent and for French people they have the chance to subscribe and the cost is very good since there are few levels to suit your needs. In addition, they will send someone specially to install a dish for you, at their expense. Have you considered this package ? Frankly I would jump at the chance to buy a subscription if I was living in France. Let me know how you are progressing. | |||

My System: Technosat IR-7000 | OK I get it. One last thing, in my receiver when I go in the LNB setting, I don't know what LNB1 and LNB2 are for? I know what is lnb but there some numbers to enter and if I change them then some channels won't work. So what are these numbers, frequence? or something else? Similarly, what is 22K (can turn it on or off) , 12V (can turn it on or off) or Diseqc (can be on(lnb1), on(lnb2),...) ? As for Canal Satellite no I'm not currently planning to buy it, sorry.
