Hi you experts I want to create a popup that pops up whenever someone clicks on a certain file. This is NOT for online web browsing, but for my computer. For instance I have files that are for internal use only, and I would like a popup of a text file or even a JPEG that displays a warning. I could not find anything, whenever you do a google search for popup you get a million links all connencted to online popups. Thanks

Are we talking about clicking a file name from Windows Explorer or a file name hyperlinked to an html page? Can you give us a link to something that you have already seen in a certain website or even a windows application?

It is simply that I have a directory in windows, where I would like some sort of popup to come on whenever someone opens that directory. Nobody bothers to read the "Read me" text files I deposit there (also they might change), but I would still like them to read a short text (or warning JPEG) before going on and opening other files in this specific directory. Capisc? ![]() I also don't want to start with user accounts and all that, too complicated.

I found this How To for Windows XP, and as I am now at work, I can't test it with Win2K. But you must enable show popup description for folder and desktop items from the folder view options. (see the Note in last paragraph). Seems simple enough to me to follow. _http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10878_11-5587642.html Hope this helps. ![]()
