Hi,Need to convert my 8, Hi8 video tapes to DVD, can anybody recommend a capture tool thats gives good results. It would need to be compatable with the editing software installed on the laptop (Adobe Prem Elements 3, Windows Movie Maker). Think I would need something like the Pinnacle Dazzle but have no idea if these tools give acceptable results. Would appreciate input from anybody who has used.RegardsNavman | ||

| Rather than mess about with a laptop/PC and eight tapes, I would be inclined to buy a DVD recorder, possibly with hard drive, and link the Hi8 via the connectors. (Once done, you could always take it back to the shop) | ||

| The important thing is to convert the Hi8 tapes into a digital format and once you have that you can do anything you like after wards. With my Pioneer DVD recorder (withh HDD), I can record from a tape and then edit with the internal software (make chapters, delete unwanted parts, etc) and make as many copies as I want to without even touching a PC. | |||

| Thats where the hard drive part comes in. Convert everything onto the drive first, and then you can edit away before putting onto the final discs. | ||
