I have been using ACDsee for a long time, it allows me to open up an image in a folder, and then using the scroll wheel on the mouse I could quickly scroll down the images. Unfortunately can't find the installation CD and or license details. I don't need a Thumbs-type program (got one already), all I need is for a program to allow me to flick through the images in real size. Unfortunately the windows own program does not let me use the scroll wheel... I don't want to pay for it, and I don't want a crack as it is for work. Thanks for any advice

I was going to recommend the same, I use it all the time and post private web albums and now you can tag photos ready for facebook etc. I like the simple red eye controls as well.

The only thing picasa does not do (which AcDsee did) is that it won't allow me to drag an image directly to another program or folder. But I will try it out for a couple of days. Also, I need to see if it opens up al lthe PSD, EPS, TIFF and similar files.

My System: Sky HD, Sky Amstrad PVR3, Technomate TM9100, Targa TSR5200, Fortec Star 5100CI Diamond plus half a dozen more | Try Irfanview (completely free for private use)- it will open virtually every type of picture file as well as a lot of video files. Will also convert files from one format to another as well as altering brightness, contrast etc. Will also "scroll" through directories with mouse scroll button. _http://www.irfanview.com/

Never tried to use it for anything else, will give it a go. Thanks!

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me. | I used to use ACDSee as well - but it seems that you can still get a free (not trial, for versions preceding the latest) version of it readily, so the original Installation Disc being missing shouldn't be a problem.

It does open ANY image file, even some strange formats. The Picasa has a nicer appearance in a way, but it also gave me some black images on (I think) adobe EPS files, so that was it. Irfan won

My System: Sky HD, Sky Amstrad PVR3, Technomate TM9100, Targa TSR5200, Fortec Star 5100CI Diamond plus half a dozen more | It has to be the best image viewer program around and free as well. i like the way you can use it purely from the keyboard - Press Enter to view full screen then PgUp and PgDn to scroll through folders; create Slideshows and even capture images from any Twain source (cameras or scanners). It doesn't have all the features of progs like Photoshop etc but still can do quite a lot in image manipulation.

I have photoshop for doing all the complicated stuff, but photoshop takes too long to open just for viewing. Actually, I am amazed that Adobe don't have a viewing program in their Adobe bundle...They got everything else in there, so why not a viewer?
