Best Sites for Buying Hardware

Thought I would start a link list of Sites that are recommended for buying hardware. (or software if you wish)

Feel free to add a link but I think it's better to only add a link if you have used the company and it's worth recommending:

www.redstore.com
www.dabs.com
www.jungle.com
www.ebuyer.com (my favorite)
www.overclockers.co.uk

Used them all apart from redstore which was recommended by Rolfw

Price comparison sites

Try the following price comparison site (it has separate sections for hardware, games, dvds, hi-fi, etc)

http://www.priceguideuk.com/search_quick_ns.asp

I use this religiously to get a price check on anything. There are other sites like Kelkoo and Shopsmart but they do not seem to have anything like as many components or web sites. It does not list www.scan.co.uk though, and it is worth checking separately - in my experience it has been mostly OK but others who have had problems have found the customer service somewhat lacking...

My System: Echostar AD3600IPVA Channel Master 1.2M VxMulti, MM1.04

Another price comparison site which I have found very useful is

http://www.computerprices.co.uk/

I have just used them to check out CD writers and ended up getting one from dabs.com (who privided a very good service).

more links

I have a few i have bought off and recommend

(For all things pc - harddrives, souncards, cases, ram, monitors etc you can even build your own dream machine online and get a price quote.

http://www.novatech.co.uk

good links for cd-r, dvd-r media, 3rd party ink, labels etc

http://www.wcwmedia.com (not .co.uk one)
http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk

To test your pc hardware etc i recommend
http://www.pcpitstop.com

I have bought several times from each company with no problems except a slight discrepency with cd sleeves with wcwmedia order on one occasion but they rectified this quickly when i emailed them. No problems since. Blankdiscshop are quick to respond and competitive and i have bought several hardware components from novatech such as ram and a graphics card with no problems.

My System: 1200cc with 100,000,000,000 neurons and 100,000,000,000,000 connections

Also try www.tekheads.co.uk

I ordered some RAM and couple other things at 9 yesterday morning, got an e-mail at noon saying they were posted and the package arrived today.

£57 for 512mb of PC2700 branded (Samsung) is quite a reasonable price. The next best I could find for branded was Crucial direct at £62.

Worth a try, I would recommend them-

I've always used www.ebuyer.com as they seem to be amongst the cheapest, and have always had what I've wanted. Never had any problems.

Just plain old Ebay has some aweful good deals if you get stealthy about your activities. I bought some nice matching cases for both of my computers for under $3.00 each. one was $1.68 and the other was $2.86 I believe. and 500 watt dual fan power supplies added for under $10.00
Watch stuff ending first, time IS money they say,so spend some time watching and you can get some great buys on Ebay .

I think Novatech (www.novatech.co.uk) has already been mentioned, very good all round really, although they are going down hill slowly in my opinion.

Another favorite of mine is OverClockers UK (www.overclockers.co.uk) not mentioned yet, they are quite good value and perfect for high end or high quality hardware, they only put that best on their site as far as I can see and have good support and forums.

Yes http://www.novatech.com was the one i mentioned previously, never had any problems with them, not sure what you mean by going down hill slowly though? only thing i can say of that is they had athlon fx chips for sale on there own but now you cannot do that as they only stock the other athlon 64 chip range. There prices are not as competitive as they used to be though but they are still a good site to buy from as far as customer satisfaction anyway. MY mate uses Ebay all the time and he has had some amazing deals in the past, you just have to be careful who you buy from and read up what people think of the seller before making a bid, he loses a lot of deals though through last minute bidding so you have to keep a close eye on it.
