Firefox speed up procedure

I know that Marts posted this a year or so ago, but if you have broadband, then this will speed up page loading.

If he were not a wizard, from head down to the root, you would have got to worry-your DB only boots

I've found Firefox is significantly worse since doing this. I normally have half a dozen to loads of tabs open at any one time.

Now, if I open 6 tabs at the same time e.g. new posts, all pages hang for about 30 seconds. Even had a few crashes.

I've seen this but not tried it yet:

Don't enable pipeline because there are lots of servers that don't suport it.
The result will be pages that never end opening.

Some good tricks can be found here _http://w*w.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1854234,00.asp

I am not claiming anything here - BUT - I swear that FF 3 Alpha 3 is fast - like faster than my Maxthon browser ;-((

Check it out/download here

Apparently all the new stuff [at this alpha stage] is back of house - but try it anyways ;-))

Have Fun, Moo.

Thanks for that Mark, it does seem a little quicker, certainly with javascript viewers etc and the page loads are really snappy.

That browser it's firefox 2 alpha 3. No firefox 3 a3.(at least, it's what I see)

Seems like on firefox 2.0.1, pipeline can be safely enabled. It gives you an excelent speed improvement.
Write about:config and search for pipeline. Change it from false to true.
I also recomend you to change the network max conections to 48 and max connections per server to 28. I have a 4mb conection. Works great with me

Yes I've been using pipeline since I downloaded v2, but must confess this new version is just that little bit faster.
