Hmm, a bit more serious than the driver scarecity / RS232 user friendliness of XP.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

What I've mentioned in another thread, the DRM is at the core of the system, upload Vista and you hobble your PC.

The Sleepy Hollow pollracle has spoken!

Before you load Vista? I'd probably think why I'd wasted my money on something that'll need service pack after service pack....

I think your car looks funny too......

My System: 90 cm dish + two LNB 13/19 E 90 cm dish + one LNB 30 W Humax 5400 .. Oh and cable for Mrs Marts (smilie here)

Most of the top comp sites are recommending home users to wait at least six months before installing Vista. No different than purchasing a new model car .. allow the teething problems to be sorted first tho I doubt there will be any problems with Vista

The security is so strong even the administrator has to fight and click just to change a setting in the control panel.

Yes, that is the next thing to be sorted, totally madness. Everytime U start a program security ask U "Did U start this program ?????"

However there is ONE good thing with Vista

When U click close down IT does it No questions made ! Great improvment worth the 100£

I am lucky that I did a clean install on a new HD, so I still have the "old" xp ready to go

Doesn't sound good at all for SPDIF fans. If my PC was in the same room as my SPDIF SONY AMP - I would have hooked-up my PC.

OT: Content protection was employed on SPDIF by SONY as anyone with a MD Recorder will testify (there was a useful board that could be made or a blackbox bought till SONY started firing out lawsuites and EU law changed, et al).

More OT: I made a ghost of my C: drive the other day with Norton Ghost and set off installing Vista to PC (the RTM vers.). About an Hour later, I was ready to make a ghost of that so I could come back every so often to meddle with Vista.

Hark! I had totally forgotten the compatibility issue with NUMEROUS Norton products. So a ghost of C: Vista was out of the question.

I couldn't go online, because Vista had a problem with my network adapter - and I couldn't ..... lalala.

Vista was Hasta la Vista for another rainy day. LOL.

This lastest 'story' of wo makes even less inclined to actually purchase it. Vista SP3 for me - at the very earliest.

.

Have Fun, Moo.
