Dr who and Torchwood

big news it is rumoured that the current doctor will not be in the next series / Kylie is in the christmas special. But who is the doctor in the new series...to be filmed in 08...... and screened late in 08 ... so far waiting for a date whenthe new series of torchwood will be screened it is known that the leading actor in it has made an album and may go on tour later. So does this mean that the next series of torchwood has been canned.. watch out for big names in the next series of Dr who philip Glenister or his brother is rumoured too be in one episode. philip is under contract with the BBC

This was the Catherine Tate 'statement' about David Tennant ?

If so it has been constantly denied

Should have made it clearer. The 2008 series of Doctor Who is ok (even with Catherine Tate), it's 2009 when the specials will be aired.

the new series of torchwood starts this month. in a couple of weeks time. at christmas they showed the christmas special of dr who"titannic" a new series should start later probably late spring.
now there is a rumour that this will be the last the current Dr who actor does and a new series will star an actor from robin of sherwood.. but not likely to be this year. maybe a christmas special.

BBC casting have made a masterstroke with the new Torchwood series they have cast a LEGEND in the genre . James Masters ie Spike from Buffy and or Angel or professor Milton Fines from Smallville. This is a guaranteed viewing hike !!!! Pure genius of an actor a true legend . Cant overstate how significant this is to sci fi fans.

May be now they have woke up at the BBC we willl now get the much discussed Ripper the GiLES THE WATCHER spinoff from Buffy the y were discussing with Anthony Head.

I think it was more a desperate measure than a pre planned scoop.
All they could have done was employ Steve Moffat as sole scriptwriter, and kindly request the existing cast to act out their roles convincingly (though the latter may have been a bit of a quantum leap).
