The new Coldplay album - Viva La Vida

A lot of hype about this, but after a couple of listens it still hasn't grabbed me.

Anyone here like it?

I like it a lot. Did take me a few times to get into it, but that's always a good sign. Good album.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Not a bad album, not as outstanding as the last two, but good nonetheless.

I agree Rolf. Some of the words are quite moving and a few of the melodies aren't bad. I think they come across much better in a live performance as per the one on BBC which was very good.

My System: 130cm dish 80cm motorised dish Silvercrest SL65 FTA Internet cafe broadband Lots of FTA channels on most satellites aimed at europe and middle east.

I love it, mainly for Viva la vida, Strawberry Swing, Violet hill and lovers in Japan. Only problem i have with it is that its rather short...

My System: Sky+ Pace v3, and before that analouge 80cm dish with Prima by Pace box pointed at 19.2e (not very imaginative then!)

I got it on Friday, and I think it's up there with A Rush of Blood to the Head, I really do. I'll admit it's short, but I think that's the beauty of it - you're not left with any filler or too much wayward experimentation, unlike in X&Y. "Viva la Vida" and "Violet Hill" are the best songs, although I think "Life in Technicolor" is my personally favourite.
