Terminator Salvation

Robbo's new avatar reminded me of this film.

I'm a fan of the Terminator films and watched Terminator Salvation a few nights ago, and I have to say I enjoyed it.

I loved Terminator I especially, and Terminator II, but wasn't that impressed with mark III.

The fourth installation has a slightly different formula. It doesn't feature the rampaging unstoppable terminator that its predecessors did, but the story is better than T3. Its still not as good as T2 in that sense though.

Its set in a time not as far in the future as where the original terminator (Arnie) came from, when Kyle Reese is still a teenager. So, I suppose they couldn't have machines that were too advanced if they were to keep the chronology right.

If you like a good Sci-Fi, its well worth a look. Though I cant see how anyone who was not familiar with the earlier installations could understand it properly.

PS: Arnie makes a cameo appearance, which I was surprised to see. Its been a while since I've seen him on screen.

I didn't mind T3 at all, however it wasn't of the same ilk as its predecessors.

Will keep an eye out (sic) for the next installment.

Not Arnie but the unlikely named Roland Kickinger!

Not seen it yet unfortunately, Terminator 2 is my favourite. Not sure about Salvation, as I will just miss Arnie. Will definetly get it on Blue ray though whenever its released. Good to know that Schwarzeneggar makes an appearance at least. I have watched T1 and T2 at least 10 times each over the years.

BTW my previous avatar was Kristanna Loken aka the T3 cow. Also had arnie before previously.

I'm with Rolf on this one. I suppose it's been updated in style for the modern audience. At least we can console ourselves that it's not been done as badly as Star Trek!

BTW can I repeat myself - IT'S NOT ARNIE IN THE FILM!

I liked the new Startrek film, although I know some hardcore Trekkies don't like it.

Never thought Star Trek went down the road of hardcore.

(I am rather concerned about searching for new episodes on t'internet now having seen a tribble without a furry coating.)

Yes, that was why I had a '' at the end of the statement. They used CGI to make his face look like Arnie.
