ITN confirms big content deal with Joost

News provider ITN has confirmed a major content deal with broadband video platform operator Joost to provide its news, entertainment and sports programming, plus a new weekly showbiz programme called Movie Buff. ITN On, ITN's multimedia arm, is also providing weather reports from the UK and holiday hot spots around the globe. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Nicholas Wheeler, managing director of ITN ON said: "Joost is undoubtedly spearheading the way in making this exciting new phase of television a reality so it is great to have the chance to work alongside them.

"It is not going to be easy but ITN has always been a pioneering company and we see our programming as a good fit for an innovative platform like Joost."

Joost content strategy chief Yvette Alberdingk Thijm said: "With quality news, including from the English Premier League and Hollywood, ITN will offer Joost viewers content that appeals to both a UK and global audience. We're delighted to have ITN on the platform, and look forward to adding more content to their programming line up."
