IFPI Launches legal proceedings

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) has launched legal proceedings against 247 alleged illegal file swappers across Europe. The industry body is working in conjunction with individual recording associations in Denmark, Germany, Italy and Canada, where the suits have been filed. The announcement follows last week's 'instant messaging' campaign launched by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) warning illegal file-swappers to stop or face court action.
