Portuguese RTP starts subtitles

Portuguese public national broadcaster RTP has started real-time subtitling for its news services.

These broadcastings will be possible through Tecnovoz technology made by laboratory Sistemas de Lengua Hablada y Ordenadores-INESC which transcripts for text in an automatic way. With a vocabulary of 100,000 words, the system presents the subtitle in white when the speaker happens to be a man and in yellow when it's a woman.

Transmissions of the subtitles are already on air.
