France Télévisions has announced that both France 2 and France 5 will move to a 16:9 broadcast ratio as of April 7. France 4 will follow on July 5 while France 3 will change progressively over the next few months. France Télévisions is thus positioning itself before its complete HD switch which will start with France 2 next autumn with the launch of France 2 HD on DTT. France Télévisions channels are currently in the 4:3 standard.
