Orange has said it may take over UPC’s operations in Romania. The surprise announcement was made by Didier Lombard, CEO of France Telecom, and Richard Moat, CEO Orange Romania, at an event marking Orange reaching 10 million subscribers in the country. They added that Orange would also attempt to introduce iPhone into Romania, though this would require reaching an agreement with Apple. Orange entered into a quadruple play deal with UPC Romania last December, and the Liberty Global company has in recent months seen a sharp fall in its analogue cable TV subscriber total.
