Spain's biggest telebroadcasting network operator Abertis Telecom has bought 80% of Madrid's regional telebroadcasting network operator Teledifusión Madrid. The buy represents the failure of Madrid's regional government to have its own telebroadcasting network operator. Teledifusión Madrid was made up of all Madrid’s regional and local DTT channels who created the regional operator so as not to have to depend on Abertis Telecom for digital signal distribution. These channels are Cadena COPE's Popular TV, Unidad Editorial's Aprende Inglés TV, Antena 3's Uniprex's, Intereconomía TV, Kiss TV, Libertad Digital TV and film entrepreneur's Enrique Cerezo's 8Madrid TV.
