LOTTO goes VSAT

I do not know if you guys know but the national lottery are doing away with their old ISDN lotto ticket kiosk machines and they are being replaced with new high tech ones but they will not use ASDL but VSAT over the Hughes vast network to communicate with lotto HQ so watch out for you corner shop as it will soon have a 90cm elliptical raven mesh dish with Hughes written on the dish in white writing the dishes will also have a horizontal elliptical feedhorn on them and a 1-watt buc and norsat lnb,

Installations started on at the beginning of February,

Also some shops will have big screens with lotto info etc which will be sent over a VPN on vsat,

My System: no sat, just dth broardband, isp is orange.

Many thanks for the link, i have an interview on Monday and have been researching vsat. I have only installed domestic systems, sky and euro free to air before.

I have also viewed a video on the install of a vsat system, looks pretty straight forward. Fingers crossed!

My System: Mostly gathering dust cos I'm a lazy git. Porty dish face blew off the mount, not too pleased...

The Sleepy Hollow pollracle has spoken!

I noticed one of the new VSAT dishes up on the side of a corner shop in town yesterday, looks like a modified minidish to me...
