Spanish DTT looks at PCs

Spanish engineering group CITIC has designed a gadget to have personal computer functionalities on DTT.

The creation is called “Study, Design and Implementation of a prototype of DTT with return channel for interactivity” and is based on the fact the end user can send audio and video data from their home.

Users will be able to have on their DTT equipment almost the same functions as they get from their PC. The gadget allows users to consult bank details as well as to vote in a TV competition or even to purchase through the internet only by using a remote control.

In order to make the gadget work like a DTT receiver the technical group is working on the MHP standard.
