Satellite services specialist will be at the Cannes Film Festival, starting May 14, providing production and transmission for the likes of CNN, Sky Italia and Canal Plus. The Cannes Film Festival is one of the media world’s most anticipated events of the year. Last year, 321 television channels and 1,700 media outlets from 82 countries covered the festival. GlobeCast, a subsidiary of France Telecom, is present for the length of the event - from the opening until the closing ceremony – in order to provide made-to measure solutions for broadcasters from five continents. Throughout the festival, GlobeCast will offer stand up and live positions, playout and satellite and fibre contribution on a global scale. GlobeCast has placed an SNG vehicle near the artists’ entrance of the Palais des Festivals which will allow a prime spot for leading broadcasters to deliver live or taped footage.
