BSkyB forges ahead with dual-play Picnic offer

BSkyB has contacted everyone who had expressed an interest in its Picnic DTT pay~TV triple-play service in the wake of the Ofcom decision to delay approval, to say it still hopes to launch a dual-play service offering broadband and telephony.

“The Picnic team has been working hard to bring you this service and we have not given up,” the email says. “We are still as keen as ever to bring you Picnic TV through your aerial, and in the meantime hope to launch with our great broadband and phone services.”

Since another Ofcom consultation document is expected by the end of the summer, we can anticipate a reduced Picnic service being launched between now and September.
