10,000 Thai, Chinese retailers get IPTV | | Win Multimedia (WM) of Thailand says it has selected Digisoft’s DigiHost Service Delivery Platform and IPTV set top box middleware to deliver premium IPTV services in the Thai and Chinese markets.
WM plans to launch an IPTV service across 10,000 retail outlets in Thailand and China over the next year. The service will include advanced applications including an electronic programme guide, video-on-demand, mobile phone tracking, news and weather services and the all-important karaoke options in addition to multi-language support.
WM is a subsidiary of Thailand’s Win Win Net Corporation, an integrated media company operating in the film and record entertainment, sports events production, licensing, and distribution industries. WM is operating in Thailand and says it will expand to China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and India.
“Digisoft’s Service Delivery Platform and IPTV Middleware provide WM with a carrier class platform that enables us to rapidly launch new and differentiated services to the marketplace,” said Sitichai Nuanmanee, chairman at WM. “A key factor in the selection was to select a complete solution that gave us the flexibility to quickly offer new and advanced revenue generating services to consumers.”
