12 million viewers for a 'bad' match

Broadcast on Friday night, June 13, Euro 2008 soccer match France vs the Netherlands, broke French network TF1’s 2008 ratings record, despite the Netherlands beating France 4-1.

Around 12.7 million viewers gathered in front of their TV set to watch the large defeat of the French team. That night, TF1 generated a 52% audience share of people aged over four, 63.5% of children aged 4-10, 61.1% of the 15-24 demo and 60.8% of those aged 15-34.
