Tiscali introduces Web-based EPG

Tiscali has launched its own online electronic programme guide, joining similar guides from the Radio Times, Sky, and the channels themselves. The guide’s selling point is that it also includes on demand channel listings in addition to 170 linear channels.

The guide can be personalised to display the channels they want to few, set reminders, and rate favourite shows. The search functionality makes it possible to track a particular TV show, genre or star, returning the films they feature in, and when they will be screened.

While the guide is being viewed Tiscali viewers will see video clips tailored to the individual user. Non-Tiscali viewers will see a generic looped preview.

It is planned to introduce functionality that will allow Tiscali TV viewers to set recordings for their Tiscali+ PVR from the online site.
