A federal court in New York has ordered Google to provide user data on who viewed which videos on YouTube, as well as copies of every video ever removed from the site for copyright violations. Viacom is seeking the data as potential evidence for its $1 billion dollar copyright suit against YouTube. However, Google does not have to reveal its source code for its search technology, as Viacom also requested. The ruling has raised some eyebrows about privacy issues, as the ruling orders personal data about video usage on the web to be made public. source: BroadbandTVNews
