Ruppichteroth, Germany, & Riyadh, Saudi Arabia -- June 30th, 2008. Together with its strategic partner Arabsat, CETel now offers efficient DVB-S2 services on Arabsat-2B in C-Band. Due to the perfect Arabsat-2B satellite coverage, this new service is designed to specifically serve CETel’s growing customers demand focused on the Gulf region, Middle East and African markets. DVB-S2 is the most advanced satellite transmission technique from DVB. It is a cost-effective solution for the customer with 30% greater efficiency. This solution includes advanced forward error correction, uses more efficient modulation modes --such as 8PSK, 16APSK, or 32APSK, and best covers customers’ requirements with its new satellite applications. Mr. Khalid Balkheyour, Arabsat President & CEO, enthusiastically welcomed the official launch of this technological leap on which Arabsat and CETel have been actively working as part of their strategy to rapidly maximize their use of space bandwidth for Value-Added Voice & Data Services throughout the Middle East and Africa: “We are proud to have been able to reach this stage hand-in-hand with our long time strategic partner CETel, introducing to the Middle East and Africa this cutting-edge satellite transmission technology that enables significantly optimized cost effectiveness for the end-customer" he commented. "We trust this major breakthrough will pave the way for a whole new class of telecommunications services to be rapidly deployed across our fleet, notably thanks to the unbeatable performance of Arabsat's most recent satellites and our confidence in the continuity and expansion provided by our forthcoming Arabsat-5A to be launched 2nd half of 2009.”he concluded, confirming Arabsat’s strong commitment to always remain at the forefront of state-of-the-art technology and service offering. With the expertise and excellent support of Newtec, the leading hardware provider in the satellite communications industry, CETel successfully switched from DVB-S to DVB-S2 services. Guido Neumann, Managing Director of CETel, said “We are happy to provide the new DVB-S2 service to our customers as it will greatly enhance their process and value proposition. Together with the leading satellite and hardware providers in the Middle East and Africa, the DVB-S2 service will enable us to extend our product portfolio for our customers in this region and expand our leading satellite network solutions throughout the world." | ||
