Digital penetration in The Netherlands now stands at 40%, according to the latest research by Intomart/GfK for the SKO, the organisation for audience research of the combined broadcasters. One in four homes watches video on the web. The percentage of people watching analogue signals has fallen from 78 to 73%; DTT provider Digitenne now has a market share of 7% (up from 5%). IPTV and DTH remain constant at 2% and 8% respectively. The percentage of people that watch video on their computer is 26%; of those 86% watch on-demand programmes and 11% say they watch streaming video. Flat screens are also taking over Dutch households: 22% own an LCD screen, a further 6% a plasma screen. 68% still have the traditional CRT; more than half of all the main TV sets in the home are now widescreen. 13% of all homes have a hard disk recorder; DVD remains dominant in 59% of the homes, 17% own a DVD recorder.
