Disney launches new channel for Spain

Coinciding with the launch of Disney's free-to-air DTT channel in Spain, the animation factory is launching a new pay-TV channel, Disney Cinemagic, but just on cable networks.

A new family premium channel, Disney Cinemagic will start transmissions at the beginning of this month, premiering Disney and Disney Pixar animations such as hit Ratatouille. In Europe the channel already broadcasts in the UK and France. Subscribers will be able to watch five new films weekly plus six new films at the weekend.

The channel also has a +1 hour version, Cinemagic+1.

José Vila, vice-president and general manager for Spain and Portugal's Disney Channel said "due to the importance cinema has for Disney Channel this new launch is the ideal complement to our present contents for Spain.”

Thematic channels Disney Channel, Disney Channel+1 and Playhouse Disney will carry on being broadcast by all Spain's pay-TV operators (satellite, cable and DSL TV).
