The BADR-6 satellite has been successfully launched together with Protostar 1 from an Ariane 5 spacecraft at Kourou, French Guyana. BADR-6 is a satellite designed to provide telecommunications and direct TV. It was built by EADS-Astrium for Arabsat and will cover the Middle East, North Africa (Morocco to the Persian Gulf) and sub-Saharan Africa. Protostar 1 is a satellite designed to provide direct TV and Internet. It was built by Space Systems/Loral to cover South-East Asia. Source: BroadbandTVNews
