IPTV subscribers pass 15 million | | The number of subscribers to IPTV services has increased to almost 15.4 million homes, with 8.4 million subscribers residing in Europe.
The figures were released by the Broadband Forum at its Broadband World Forum Asia in Hong Kong from data prepared by analysts Point Topic.
Broadband subscribers have reached over 370 million, with DSL remaining the dominant access technology, accounting for 65% of the world’s subscribers. However, fibre subscriptions have increased by 33% since the beginning of 2007, with over 10 million people now connected to a fibre network. Cable subscriptions have begun to slow with a growth rate standing at 18% in the last year.
