Canal+ signs French movie ‘catch-up’ deal | | Canal + announced it has signed catch-up TV agreements with French movie organisations Blic, Arp, Bloc, APC and UPF, allowing their content to be added to video-on-demand service Canal+ à la Demande.
The agreement will enable subscribers to watch French and European movies, pre-acquired by Canal+, on the VOD service. Subscribers will thus be able to screen any selected movie for a maximum of three times during the airing period on Canal+.
Canal+ will pay additional catch-up TV rights depending on the price paid for the movie and the number of times a title is requested.
The contract will run for the next three years.
