Norway’s public broadcaster NRK is planning a two-channel high definition service to cover the forthcoming Olympic Games in Beijing. The transmissions will go live on the Norges Televisjon (NTV) platform in time for the opening ceremony on August 8. HD broadcasts will be available on both NRK1 and NRK2, with transmissions on the MPEG-4 platform configured in such a way to allow the continued transmission of NRK3. Permanent HD broadcasts are not anticipated until 2010. Source: BroadbandTVNews
