The Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat expects to add 2-3 more HD channels to its offer by Q4 this year, according to Andrzej Matuszynki, board member and CMO. Speaking to Broadband TV News, he added that it currently offers subscribers three – Polsat Sport HD, Eurosport HD and HBO HD – and has enough capacity for up to six HD channels on the Hot Bird transponder it employs. Polsat’s HD channels can be received with Samsung set-top boxes that retail for PLN299 (€92.7). Aside for the still to be announced HD services, Polsat has a number of other channel launches in the pipeline. They include Polsat Café, a women’s channel expected to launch in August, and Polsat Play, a channel aimed at male viewers. Source:BroadbandTVNews
