Canal + Cyfrowy will open its first HD studio in Poland this Friday (July 25). Although a large proportion of the programming the facility will produce will be sports – and indeed football – oriented, it will also include a weekly film magazine and content for the kid’s channel ZigZap. The DTH platform Cyfra+ already offers subscribers six HD channels, with a seventh (MTV HD) likely to be added this autumn. The studio’s launch will come on the same day as that of the new sports channel, Orange Sport. However, the latter will in SD and produced in the incumbent telco TPSA’s own studios.
