SportsXchange, a new free-to-air sports news and betting channel, has launched in the UK and Ireland. The channel is running feature programming in the morning with live news and betting information in the late afternoon and evening. All the time a ticker and side panel keep viewers up to date. Distribution has been secured both on sky digital and Ireland’s UPC Cable. Its free-to-air transmissions also make it a candidate for Freesat, though there have been no announcements. In addition to the services of a number of prominent sports personalities including Stewart Robson, Ray Houghton and Alvin Martin (football), Robert Green and Jeremy Chapman (golf), Ed Hawkins (cricket) and Lydia Hislop, Eddie Fremantle and Steve Mellish (horse racing), exclusive rights have also been secured to Brazilian Championship Football.
