Brundle and Coulthard to form part of BBC F1 team

Martin Brundle and David Coulthard will form part of the broadcast team when the BBC takes over F1 coverage from ITV next season, Pitpass has learned..

The main team will consist of Brundle, Coulthard, Jonathan Legard, Lee McKenzie, daughter of Daily Express F1 journalist Bob McKenzie and currently covering A1GP for Sky Sports, and Jake Humphrey, the youngest ever presenter to host Football Focus and Match of the Day and who has also enjoyed stints on both CBBC at The Fame Academy and BAMZOOKi.

While we understand that McKenzie will work in the pits and Legard will form the commentary team along with Brundle, McKenzie and Brundle will film the majority of the features to be used in pre-event build-up.

With the budget said to be even less than ITV is spending - come on, how do you think the BBC finances garbage like Bonekickers, Hole in the Wall and Eastenders - it is believed that Humphrey will be based in a London studio - much like Sky's A1GP coverage - along with Coulthard, though this has yet to be finalised.

With Coulthard also fulfilling a consultancy role with Red Bull, and having a keen, non-PC, sense of humour, the BBC would be best advised to have the Scotsman on site haranguing his former rivals.
