Eurosport unveils VOD offer

Eurosport is launching a new VOD service including a catch-up TV offer that will include the best of Eurosport and Eurosport 2.

The TF1-owned network is making available up to 4,000 hours of programming including premium events such as the Australian Open and US Open. The catch-up TV service will be available for up to seven days following its initial transmission.

Eurosport will push the content to cable, IPTV and satellite operators over FTP. The content will then only be made available to those viewers that have subscribed to the channel.

Jean Thierry Augustin, Eurosport’s managing director of distribution and development said the new service would provide viewers a new window to watch the channel through. “We are pleased to be able to facilitate cable and satellite operators by providing them with an additional and innovative way to provide subscribers with quality sports programming which contributes directly to increased customer satisfaction and improved customer loyalty”.

Carriage deals have already been signed with CanalSat in France the Belgian IPTV provider Belgacom.
